We’re excited to introduce you to Laura Sposato, our newest Executive Producer. Laura has over 14 years of event and conference planning experience, as well as a bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Millersville University.

We asked Laura a few fun questions so you could get to know this rockstar a little better too!

What’s the biggest event you’ve helped produce?
Before joining Coterie Spark, I was a meeting planner for the American College of Physicians (ACP) — and ACP’s annual meeting was a 10,000-person city-wide event.

What’s one of your most memorable event moments?
During a retirement celebration for my organization’s CEO, I coordinated for his favorite pianist to play a surprise performance at the reception. The joy on his face completely made me forget how difficult it was to get a Steinway grand piano into the venue.

What’s the biggest surprise you’ve encountered during an event?
There was a 10,000-person marathon on the morning of our Board meeting. I was in contact with the city on the locations and timing of road closures, but the start time was changed at the last minute! It now coincided with the exact time our attendees needed to walk from one location to the other. For a while, they were unable to cross the street due to the volume of runners.

I ended up doing a little running myself that day, finding police officers that were posted nearby and asking if they could help my attendees cross when there were gaps between runners. The officers agreed to help and everyone got to the meeting on time.

What are you looking forward to most as you join Coterie Spark?
Building new relationships and working together as a team.

What’s one thing you wish people knew about event planning?
It’s harder and much more involved than you think!

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I used to play ice hockey.

Any fun hobbies when you’re not working?
I love traveling, boating, attending concerts, and ice hockey.

Who’s your favorite performer to listen to while you work?
Eric Church

What our team thinks about Laura:
“The moment I met Laura I knew she loved boats…since she was on one! THANK YOU ZOOM BACKGROUNDS! Then, as Laura and I began to talk, I knew she was a perfect fit for our team. She has an amazing background with tons of boots on the ground experience, which is what it takes to be good at what we do. Adding an experienced producer like Laura to our team is exactly what we need to take our team to the next level. I’m excited to watch her continue to grow in this next chapter of her journey.” – Candace Hoelscher, COO of Coterie Spark
